I have to start off by saying that Emily is one of the sweetest, soft spoken brides I have ever met. From our first conversation I fell in love with her genuinely lovely disposition and laid back personality. I also fell in love with her sweet baby girl and wonderful family. She and her fiance Cody, who is hilarious by the way, always knew that they wanted a December wedding. I love shooting weddings in Virginia but I’ve found that a lot of brides try to shy away from the colder, winter months. As I shoot more and more winter weddings, I really love them more and more as well! Emily and Cody’s wedding was no exception. They wanted a very small wedding with the ceremony taking place at the original chapel of St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church built in the 1700’s. The whole day was quaint and perfect!
This gorgeous dress happens to be hanging on a hook that Emily’s parents bought to hang all of their girls’ wedding dresses. How special!
This little sweetie was all smiles while Mommy was getting ready! Don’t you just love those red curls?
Ok, so there may have been some light tackling to get her ready. She’s still as cute as can be!
And so is this little sweetie! These two make some gorgeous flower girls!
There were all types of little things around the house that spoke to building a strong marriage. I just loved finding all of those little treasures like this pillow.
Time to put on her gorgeous gown!
Time to get married!
I really do love seeing a couple pray together for the first time as husband and wife. It’s so special!
Thank goodness it wasn’t too cold to do some photos outside. The weather was actually quite beautiful.
Too funny!
We took a quick walk across the street before the sun set to capture just a few more moments.
Emily and Cody, I wish you much love and many blessings! xoxo
