I always love it when a couples tells me that they want to do their engagement photos in a place that’s special to them. Margy and Will chose to have their photos at a private residence/farm in The Plains. If you’ve never been to The Plains, it’s one of the most beautiful parts of Virginia. It’s perfectly placed just far enough from DC to still be rural but close enough to be convenient to all of the wonderful things that the city has to offer. There’s a ton of beautiful estates, a couple of A list celebrities call it home, and the farm where we photographed Margy and Will was also a location that was filmed in the popular Leonardo DiCaprio movie, J Edgar. Pretty cool! What’s even better than that is that Margy grew up coming to this farm and it holds so wonderful memories for her. And to top it all off, it BEAUTIFUL!

Margy, Will and I walked the grounds chatting about life, their upcoming wedding, and the beautiful grounds of the farm. There may have been some mentions of our favorite, recent Netflix binges, too! Ha! We strolled from place to place, enjoyed visiting with some of the sweet animals, and breathing in that fresh country air.
