For all of you photographers out there, and aspiring photographers alike, here is part II of the series all about photographing gorgeous, wedding day details. Again I’m outlining some of my best used tips for beautiful details anywhere that you might be shooting. Tip #1 is all about the light. Positioning yourself perpendiculuar to the light source is KEY for gorgeous shots that create beautiful dimension. Make sure you watch the video and check back here to see how my position to the light affected the shots.

All of the photos from this post are from a real wedding! I brought with me my handy, matboard and found a window as soon as I entered the bridal suite.

1.) Once I arrived and found the window, I started setting my items up on an ottoman that was located near a large window. I set myself up perpinducluar to the window.

2.) I placed my board on the ottoman, grabbed a bridesmaid’s dress, and started laying my items out flad on the board.

3.) Using the board in espeically important for ring shots. This will keep your items stable.

4.) Be careful when photographing shoes on a bridesmaid’s dress. The heels of the shoes can have a tendency to pick the fabric. So, make sure you’re using the back of the dress and placing the shoes very lightly on the fabric.
