Photographing families is one of my favorite things to do. I think it’s even more special when I get to spend some time at a family’s home, get to know each person in their own element, and photograph them where they’re most comfortable. I was super excited when Melanie asked me to photograph her family on their beautiful farm in Warrenton. Melanie and I have know each other for a few years as members of our children’s PTO, but had never had a chance to work together in this way. I had always heard so much about her family during board meetings and late night sessions about school matters, but had never had the pleasure to meet them. What a fun and loving group they are. Not only were they amazing, so was their farm. It’s not every day that I get to photograph a family with their beautiful horses in a gorgeous open field.
